The BAJA INTERNATIONAL TOURIST CUP

Started in 2021 with it's fifth anniversay coming up in October 2025 the Baja International Tourist Cup is one of the world's fastest road races. Average lap speeds can approach those of the famous Isle of Man road race. Our all time champion, Eric Wilson, averaged 126mph. Conveniently l located just a few miles south of the California, USA border the event is run on a temporary 9.95 miles circuit. Most races consist of several laps with competitors released at 20 second intervals. The fastest time to complete all the laps wins.

  In 2022 Eric Wilson, a veteran Irish Road Racer with many Isle of Man starts broke his previous year's record with a blistering 4 minute 43 second lap of the nearly 10 mile Baja International Tourist Cup circuit in Tecate with an AVERAGE speed of over 126 miles per hour! His steed was an Obsession Engineering prepared BMW S1000R motorcycle.  

Baja Tarmac Racing is a lady racer friendly environment. In fact, the 2025 season saw lady racers take 1st place in TWO of the six Baja International Tourist Cup classes:

• Bridgette LeBer - 1st Place Super Sport Class - Yamaha R6 - 2025 Tourist Cup
• Liz Sands - 1st Place Heavyweight Class - Harley Davidson XR1200 - 2025 Tourist Cup

The race circuit itself located south of the city of Tecate, Baja CA Mexico, approximately 13km or 9 miles south of the US Border. This makes it very convenient for USA based competitors.

Oct 9th, 2025 - Morning Practice & Qualifying Sessions - Evening Driver's meet and Fiesta Time!

Oct 10th, 2025 - Morning Race Sessions - Afternoon awards ceremony and More Fiesta Time!
